Missions Moment
Nov. 11 & 12 - Faith Promise Missionary Convention at Auburn Church of the Nazarene
Mission news from Bangkok, Thailand
Nazarene Church leaders in Thailand ask for prayer as floodwaters persist since July with the worst flooding in half a century, exacerbated by an inadequate water management system. Thousands have been displaced, including many of our missionaries, and 427 people have died. Much of the harm done to crops, businesses, and residences was caused by dam failures and poor storm drainage. Rice and fishing are the two main sources of food and exporting. The government estimates the floods wiped out a quarter of the rice crop and prevented fishing in the major fish production areas. Hospitals continue to treat patients for a variety of illnesses associated with the flood. Pray for the people of Thailand and our denomination there during these difficult times. NCM hopes to establish a relief fund in the near future.
