Empty Nester's
Thank you to all who attended our lunch at Kostas recently!! We had 14 of us, and we certainly enjoyed being together!
Our lunches are informal and relaxed, and whoever wants to come may do so! Our next lunch will be on April 24th right after church, again at Kostas. We had hoped that Clover’s Cafe in Skaneateles might be open for us, but we’ve not been able to find out any information about when that will happen.
Recently, seven of us traveled to Bath to attend the Christmas Dinner Theater that was canceled in December. It was wonderful!!! We hope to attend more events like this and FLN sometimes brings special things to Syracuse and Auburn, so hopefully we can do something closer.
In the future, we’d like to begin a small group for Empty Nesters, a summer picnic, and possibly host a hymn sing event. If you have other ideas, please let us know!
Bible Studies for Ladies!
Phyllis Tanner reports that her Ladies’ Bible Study is going well! On Thursday mornings, at 10:00 a.m. Phyllis’ group meets at the Boyle Center, 149 Genesee St. Auburn. At this time, the Boyle Center is closed to non-residents. So for now, this group will continue just for those who live in the Boyle Center. The group meets in the Community Room, which is in the lower level of the building, behind the dining area. Please let Phyllis know if you have any questions. Bible Studies for Men!
There is also a Bible Study group for men at the church each Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. This group meets in person, and also by Zoom. This group is led by Chuck Wicks. Men who would like to participate can come to the church OR contact Chuck for zoom information. If you have any questions, please give Chuck a call on his cell: 315- 209-9383. On March 31st, the group will begin a study by Dr. David Jeremiah entitled Lions of Babylon. Sounds great!
